COERR Kanchanaburi organized the Tie-Dye Shirt Making and Crispy Lotus Blossom Cookie Making for vulnerable youth who were interested in spending leisure during school break to acquire skills as well as opportunity to generate income.
The training was based on the fact that Tie-Die Shirts are popular and make a good sale during festival like Songkran in April, and that Crispy Lotus Blossom Cookie is tasty, easy to make and less processed than dried snacks in the market. In addition, herbal juice making was supported as a choice of health benefits for those who wish to become healthy.
These two activities were organized in Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter, Suan Phueng District, Ratchaburi Province, on September 17 and 22, 2020. There were about 100 youth attending these school break activities aiming at making use of raw materials and ingredients available locally, with low-cost investment but high in value. It was a good opportunity to encourage these youth to make extra income to support their families.
